Xtramath. Post #12
This blog post is about a tool of my own interest from the list of technologies (software).
Xtramath is an online math fact fluency programs that works to improve student recall and automaticity of basic math facts.
After creating a teacher account, teachers can add their students, review teacher guides, access classroom resources, and find practice work to send home with students. Teachers are able to receive weekly progress reports so they can monitor student progress.
Xtramath is adaptive to each student to help improve math skills.
There are multiple resources available on Xtramath though many of them require a paid subscription.
The one resource that is free is the student printables. These include coloring sheets and blank certificates for students after they have completed a topic.
This tool seems easy to use and offers math and stem activities. It is difficult to tell what kind of activities and how many there are because the math and stem activities are one of the resources that must be paid for to use.
I would say I am not very likely to use this in my future teaching because you cannot access any of the content and activities without a paid subscription.
This can connect to PICRAT because it replaces instruction and it is interactive for students.

Hi Lilli!
ReplyDeleteAt my school we used Xtra math! When I used this as a student it was a lot of fun and something my teachers used as a supplemental free time activity. Our free time on computers were used for educational games/activities.
Hey Lilli! Xtra math seems like a great website to utilize for students to learn about math! Great connection to PICRAT.
