Google Classroom

Image
This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically, Google Classroom in the technologies list.   Google classroom is an online platform for learning. Teachers are able to put up learning materials like slides, readings, videos and more. Quizzes can be added for students to complete and teachers can make assignments that students need to submit a document to.  Teachers are able to track student progress in the gradebook and easily give feedback to students on their work. Students can adjust the accessibility in the settings and can change the language. It also allows students to easily keep track of when assignments are due. Google Classroom is easy to use for both teachers and students and is very versatile in how the classroom can be set up. I think it is likely that I may have to use this in a future classroom, if something like COVID ever happens again I could see needing to utilize this tool and it could be useful to use as a...

Lexia

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically, Lexia in the software list. Their  website describes why Lexia is a good resource for teaching literacy.  Lexia is an online literacy tool and has interactive lessons for students to practice their literacy skills. The lessons get more difficult as a student gets correct answers and stays on the same difficulty level when a student is not getting the correct answers. Lexia uses the science of reading as the basis for their lessons so best methods are being used with Lexia.  Lexia is user friendly and is easy for both teachers and students to use. It is used for just literacy but can be beneficial for all students to use. I think that the likelihood of using this technology in my future classroom is good, in the class I am volunteering in the students were using this program for their literacy practice.  Lexia falls under the presenting the content event in the 7 ...

This entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Kahoot from the software list.  Kahoot for fun Game Pin:  0126406 Many of us are familiar with Kahoot and love it. Kahoot allows you to make quizzes that students take in real time on their phones or laptops. It tracks student answers and has a scoreboard that shows the top students who have the best scores.  Teachers can make their own quizzes or they can pick one that has already been made. There are many topics to choose from for the premade quizzes.  You are also able to access past Kahoots that you made and they can be reused. Teachers can assign Kahoots for students to complete as homework.  Kahoot is very easy to use as both a teacher and a student and can be used for any subject. From having been a student who used Kahoot I always found it to be a lot of fun. This is a resource that I will be using in my future classroom at some point.  This technology falls...

Epic!

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Epic! in the software list.   Lilli's Epic!   Class code czm4598 Epic! is an E-library that allows teachers to browse books from many different genres and content areas and assign them to students as reading. Teachers have the ability to input their class grade level and reading level system so they see books that are at the grade level and reading level of their students. There are also learning videos and audiobooks available.  Once an Epic! teacher account is set up the teacher can add students by having them put the class code in, the site has instructions listed for both laptops and phones. This is what the log in instructions for a laptop look like. Teachers can assign and track progress on readings for students and there is an option to require a quiz after the reading. The quizzes are pre-made and cannot be customized, which is a limitation of this technology.  M...
